Mirror's Edge, less shooting, more running
"The latest issue of Edge has the scoop on DICE's upcoming first-person action...jumping...thing, Mirror's Edge. First up, it's not a shooter. Instead, influenced heavily by parkour, they're calling it a first-person action adventure. Huge levels will allow you the same kind of free-form exploration and athletic tomfoolery as a game like Tony Hawks or even Crackdown, but with much finer control. Don't think the lumbering cops of Crackdown, think Prince of Persia.Mirror's Edge Sounds Pretty Great
But in first-person. Instead of your character being just a floating camera, like most other FPS games, your whole body is an object in Mirror's Edge. Your legs, arms and torso are visible, allowing you to judge your leaps, handholds and shimmys. Your body will also behave accurately - if you're running at full-speed you'll be able to see your feet taking larger steps and your arms pumping, and this will affect your momentum.
Other bits revealed: you'll play a "runner", member of an overground resistance movement fighting against an oppressive government (over- because the man controls the streets, see). It's coming to PS3, 360 and PC. Guns will play only a minor role. You'll be encouraged to run, not fight. And Edge, having played some early code, feel the simulation of a real, human weight to your character's movements "feels vividly realised in a way that firstperson games commonly don't". All of which sounds pretty great, so let's you and me keep an eye on this one.

Late night with Teewars
I worked late this night on several different maps for Teewars, but I think this last one I made, dubbed 'Valley', was the one that turned out best.

Harvey Smith talks a little bit about Deus Ex
I didn't want to put Area 51 in Deus Ex! I didn't find it that interesting. In fact, initially it was a moonbase. You were going to use the rocket to get to the international space-station (which in our fiction was just sagging and falling apart and barely held together), and from there you were going to use a shuttle to get to a luxury space-station which was going to be like the Titanic.Deus Ex - the ending that never was

Nogg-aholic the Movie - 300 000 views
Wow, people are still watching my old movie I made almost 2 years ago, and it's still ranked number 1 on Warcraftmovies. I've said this before, but when I made it, I never imagined it would become soo popular, and looking back at it now, there's alot of things I would've liked to done differently.

Stephen King's 1408
Actually, it's only based on a short novel by Stephen King. But still, this horror movie is the best I've seen since Shutter, and if you didn't like that one, don't worry, this isn't anything like it anyway.
I didn't post any youtube trailers for you, since I consider they contain a small amount of spoilers, and it might be better just to sit down and watch this movie without any preconceptions.

Mass Effect for November :'(
Oh right, Assassin's Creed isn't the only title I thought would come out in September that actually turned out to be a November release. Mass Effect follows the same pattern and moves into the depths of winter instead, with a scheduled November release. I thought E3 was supposed to come with good news?

Nah, I'm not being nice now. The game actually looks good and its likely it was mostly Sony's fault that the 2005 trailer got the belief of being in engine.

Spark Unlimited's Legendary: The Box To Be Published By Gamecock Media Group In Spring 2008
Cockpit, Austin, Texas - July 9, 2007 - Spark Unlimited today announced that Gamecock Media Group will publish their new gaming intellectual property, Legendary: The Box. Set to release in Spring 2008 on PC and next-generation platforms, Legendary: The Box presents a world suddenly thrust into chaos and turmoil when ancient creatures of myth are unleashed into modern day society.
"Like most developers, we've always had a dream game that we've secretly been working on," said Craig Allen, CEO of Spark Unlimited. "We've made a name for ourselves with World War II first-person shooters, but Legendary: The Box is our labor of love. It's a thrill to work with Gamecock; they want to see the game completed exactly as we envision it."
"If there is one genre that needs a shot in the arm, it's the first-person shooter," said Harry Miller, Head of Development of Gamecock Media Group. "Spark's Legendary: The Box is going to be a classic, in terms of story, game-play and technology. I'm inspired by where they're taking the genre."
Legendary: The Box tells the story of Charles Deckard, an art thief who is duped into stealing Pandora's Box. When he opens the box, he releases hordes of beasts thought to be fictional - such as werewolves and gryphons - into an unprepared modern world. A full scale war between man and myth begins, and it is quickly complicated by the actions of powerful secret societies. As the person responsible for releasing this terror, Deckard's unwittingly become the only person capable of containing it once more and saving civilization from being destroyed by the terrifying creatures of the box.
