Eidos being bought by Square Enix?

Japanese powerhouse Square Enix has made a bid to acquire British Tomb Raider house Eidos, it's been confirmed.

The Final Fantasy company has made a firm bid of around £84m, stating that Eidos' roster of franchises - including Tomb Raider and Kane & Lynch - are "highly complementary to our business and will accelerate our aggressive expansion into Western markets."

Though not yet approved, Eidos directors will be recommending that shareholders accept SE's offer, reports Reuters. Eidos chairman Tim Ryan called the offer "attractive".
