Garry's Mod going to be sold through Steam

Players tend to get aggrivated by things that was free before, but suddenly requires payment. A great example of that is the Bethesda horse mod story. But this shouldn't come as a big surpise, because Valve have had agreements with modders before (Counter-Strike anyone?), and judging by the popularity of Garry's Mod, this might be a good move.

Garry's Mod is a sandbox mod using the source engine and all the CS:S and HL2 content, to build strange devices or domino effects. Because the sheer lack of gameplay in the mod, people might become intimidated from paying for it.

The price will be 10$, which is the cheapest price point for Steam distributed products, and the earnings will be shared 50/50 between Garry and Valve.

The earlier versions of the mod is still going to stay free, and could be considered as demo versions of Garry's Mod through Steam. I think it's always great when they try to research new distributing possibilities, but I'm not the one that pays for most of my stuff ^^
